What software do you use?
Immich provides the photo library experience. We install and configure it on suitable hardware and explain how to use it. Ottawa Home Server is an independent installation service, not an official Immich partner.
Can I use an old laptop or desktop?
Possibly. We assess condition, storage capacity, power and network availability, and a separate backup destination. Additional equipment is quoted separately.
Will this replace every cloud feature?
We’ll discuss the features you rely on before recommending a setup. Compatibility, automatic uploads, and remote access depend on your devices and connection; no universal feature match is promised.
Does a local backup protect against everything?
No. Theft, fire, or another event at home can affect both copies. Off-site protection is an additional option to discuss and is not included in the base package.
What happens after installation?
Included support and its time window are listed in the package above. The system still needs updates and backup checks. Ongoing maintenance, later changes, and work beyond the agreed scope can be discussed separately.
